물놀이 안전사고는 6월부터 9월까지 더운 여름철에 집중적으로 발생하는 경우가 많고 하천, 계곡, 강, 저수지 등의 내수면과 해수욕장과 같은 해수면 등 다양한 장소에서 발생합니다.

또 물놀이 안전사고는 사망자 발생 위험이 매우 높고, 같은 장소에서 반복적으로 발생하는 특징이 있습니다.

이러한 점들을 고려하여 시전상인은 예방차원에서의 물놀이 안전시설물(안내표지판, 인명구조함, 부표 등)과 대응 차원에서의 인명구조장비(구명환, 구명조끼,구명로프, 투척로프 등)와 안전요원 장비들을 물놀이 지역에 비치할 수 있도록 2006년부터 전국의 지방자체단체와 농어촌공사 등에 제공하여 왔습니다.

시전상인은 새로운 제품과 기술의 개발로 대한민국 뿐만 아니라 전세계에서 물놀이 안전사고로 인한 피해가 없도록 노력하겠습니다.
